My 174th movie this year is a movie that I have heard about and curious to see.



Veronika Decides to Die is based on Paulo Coelho's book with the same title. I have not read the book, but I believe this is the first movie based on his novels. So, I have no idea what the story will be, only to know that the movie is starring Sarah Michelle Gellar.

I saw it last night and ... the movie was gloriously and achingly amazing!!! I think Sarah Michelle is radiant in her performance as Veronika. From the first till the end, you can see the change in her. The scene where Veronika plays the piano while Edward (Jonathan Tucker) watches her in the rain is delicate, intense, and oh so beautiful. I love the cinematography, the music (♥), the performances (David Thewlis!) ... truly a movie to cherish. If you love the tone of Stay and The Air That I Breathe (the latter also starring SMG), you will fall in love with this one (ergo, nudge, nudge to subtle__sarcasm). Below is the trailer ...
